Experience
My love for teaching started in the 7th grade. This is when I began tutoring my peers in subjects like science, English, and literature. I believe my expertise is in working with material that is at the high school level. However, I can definitely teach elementary subjects. I prefer to work with my students in a one on one environment. However, I happily will work in a group setting. My teaching style is all about seeing those improvements. I understand that each student is different and his or her needs are different from the next student's. Because of this, I tailor my lessons to meet the student's needs. I have my undergraduate degree from Yale in ecology and evolutionary biology. I also have my M.S. in Ecology from UC Davis. When I am not working or teaching, I thoroughly enjoy outdoor activities and being around nature. I can be found biking in the mountains, running or jogging, kayaking in the waters, backpacking in unique and interesting places, climbing high peaks, or putting my green thumb to use. I also love watching documentaries and spending time with my favorite canine companion.
